We are only as good as the tools we use.
Every person has tools and resources we use in order to become the best person we can be. When we find something great its really hard not to want everyone around us to have access to it as well. These are just a few of the things I use, have used in the past or are sitting at the post office just waiting for me to get my hands on them.
They may not be the tools you need right now but I have always found that when I have a tool on hand, I use it when I need it. Hard to use what you don't have available.
What are your "go to" tools? Feel free to send me a message and let me know! I am always looking for new resources to open my mind and look at things differently. I hope one day to think so far out of the box that there is no more box.
Meditation App
Headspace is an app and website that helps you focus your mind. A busy mind that won't let you sleep, distracting thoughts that take you off task, or just to get in tune with your body and start the day in a positive place. Start with the ten days of ten minutes and see where you can go from there.
Podcast
Love this podcast. Put it on for the mutant tasks (like chores) and get to know some of the most interesting people. How they do what they do and why.
In the Gym
Bodyspace has been a great app to work out with, it tracks my workouts, progress, and history. Has videos and instructions for different moves, many different workout plans and a recipe database. The community is very positive and encouraging for anyone interested in better health and fitness.
The Greatness Guide was the first books I received of its nature. I loved how the ideas in it were one-two pages each. There was no pressure to sit down and read the book in its entirety to get a few concepts. Some days you need one bit and other days a different one. Its still one of my favourites and is usually on the top of the shelf.
This is a easy read about how some of our emotions can affect the body. The connection between organs and emotions is not a hard science but it can provide a clue in a complicated cases. It was a great start in thinking outside the box.
This is a fantastic resource for stretches and movement exercises for anyone wanting to take control of their health and recovery. Through specific movement and awareness of our bodies we can find the blocked areas and restore movement, which allows health to grow.
This is a fantastic resource for those starting to explore the best way to fuel their bodies. Keep in mind that most bodies can digest just about anything when they are running optimally but when your systems are challenged or stressed then certain foods are more difficult.
This has been a very interesting read. I haven't even finished it yet and I'm so impressed with it I'm recommending it to everyone. If you want your body to perform well you need to fuel it well. I've tried the butter and cream in my morning tea and LOVE it. Yum.
I am a sucker for cookbooks, guilty as charged. So when I got halfway through the Bulletproof Diet above I knew that the cookbook was going to be added to my collection. This isn't just a collection of recipes, there is information on when to eat certain foods, how/what to pair together. This hasn't really made it to the shelf actually, its been living on my countertop.
